Purpose and Objectives:
- Enable self-consumption of solar energy with provisions for exporting excess energy.
- Regulate technical, application, and operational aspects of solar PV installations.
- Eligibility:
- Open to non-domestic consumers (commercial, industrial, mining, and agricultural).
- Previous participants in other solar PV programs are ineligible.
- Installation Types and Capacities:
- Rooftop-mounted solar PV systems are permitted.
- Capacity limits are tied to the consumer’s maximum demand.
- Energy Management:
- Excess energy can be exported and credited to electricity bills (limited to 10 years).
- Energy credits cannot offset minimum monthly charges.
- Technical Requirements:
- Compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards is mandatory.
- Connection assessment studies are required for installations exceeding 72kW.
- Application Process:
- Submission through the MyTNB Portal, with fees applicable.
- CAS (Connection Assessment Study) may be required depending on capacity.
- Operational Period:
- The program validity is 10 years, after which systems are limited to self-consumption.
